Jess made a lovely card for my birthday!
On the way back from fishing I told Tom about her card.
Well, I gave you a hearty hug, Dad, he said. And its true. He did. Plus – don’t let him hear this – a bit of a speech vaguely similar to the words on the card. I had a huge grin on my face.
They want to buy me a present. I said Hold On, Maybe We’ll All Chip In And Buy Me A Telescope.
Oh, said Jess, I was going to buy you a chocolate.
