Namibia Birding Trip

We landed in Windhoek, picked up a VW bus or kombi and rigged it up with a nice big hebcooler in the back. Ice, beer, gin, tonic. We were ready for emergencies.

West to Daan Viljoen game park (where a lion’s roar welcomed us that night), on through the Khomas Hochland into the Namib Desert. Then on to the Atlantic Ocean at Swakopmund. Spitzkoppen; Usakos; Erongo Mountains; Karabib; Omaruru; Otjiwarongo; Outjo; Up to Etosha (Okakuejo, Halali, Namutoni – Saw a ‘rare night bird‘ in Etosha*); Tsumeb; Waterberg; Okahandja; Back down to Windhoek.

We spotted 200 bird species, and we also * spotted a comet!
